KOZHIKODE: The Kudumbashree workers in the state will soon launch a tour operating and event management company. The Community Development Society (CDS) in the district will provide attractive tour packages, especially to women. CDS district coordinator T.P. Muhammed Basheer said, “though women like to travel, the opportunities for them are less. We are planning to conduct women-only trips to far-off places,” he said.
“The Kudumbashree workers will make attractive tour packages, especially for women teams,” he added. Initially, the tour management will select cities and interesting tourism destinations in South India and later extend the scheme to new places. A few Kudumbashree groups have sought training in event management also to launch event management groups, he added. The group is set to start its first trip during Pooja holidays to a few prominent temples in the state.
