Family suicide case: Realtor harassed physically by partners in financial issues: Cop
Hyderabad: Shortly before he allegedly killed his family and died by suicide on Sunday, a real-estate businessman was allegedly assaulted by bouncers hired by his three partners in Hyderabad, according to the police. One of the suspects is a Nizamabad corporator.
The bodies of Suryanarayana, who hailed from Adilabad, his wife Akshaya and their two children, were found in a hotel room in Nizamabad on Sunday. Police said the couple had quarrelled earlier in the day, and Akshaya had entreated Suryanarayana to think about the children.
Police said Suryanarayana and his three partners had purchased open plots and properties as part of their real estate business in Hyderabad. Due to poor demand, the three business partners brought pressure on Suryanarayana to return their money.
Unable to do so rightaway, Suryanarayana reportedly gave them blank cheques. After collecting the cheques, the businessmen had him beaten up by bouncers.
The Nizamabad Fourth Town police on Monday altered the sections under which the case was registered, making it a case of abetment to suicide against three businessmen. It had been earlier booked as a case of death under suspicious circumstances.
Nizamabad IV Town sub-inspector Sandeep said that three persons, who are associated with political parties, were involved in harassing the victim mentally and physically. "As per our preliminary reports, Suryanarayana was assaulted by hired bouncers in Hyderabad by three business partners after disputes took place between them in connection with money matters," the SI said.
