APSSDC offers free Python courses for rural graduates
Kurnool: AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) is offering a free course in Python, a key programming language, in Nandyal district to equip computer graduates with valuable skills and increase their prospects of finding employment.
Python course is a major opportunity, as similar courses in cities like Hyderabad can cost anywhere from ₹20,000 to ₹50,000, depending on the course duration and the reputation of the institute. Python has gained immense popularity worldwide in recent years, as it is utilised in various applications, from machine learning to website development and software testing.
In Nandyal, APSSDC officials have already started imparting the Python programme in Dhone, with an intake of 30 computer graduates. Graduates from various villages in the region are becoming proficient in this language, boosting their career prospects. The three-month-long course is receiving positive feedback for its structure and expertise of faculty members.
S. Lavanya from Dhone, who holds a B. Sc. in computers, expressed her satisfaction with Python. She said the training is proving useful and cost-effective, eliminating the need for travelling to Hyderabad and spending a significant amount of money.
Another participant Sk. Mabunni from Dhone town expressed her gratitude to the state government for offering such a valuable course for free. She says she is finding Python easily understandable and hopes of securing better employment opportunities once she completes the course.
APSSDC Nandyal district manager P.V. Pratap Reddy said they had earlier trained 60 graduates in Java programme. 45 of them have successfully secured positions in various organisations. Quoting the Stack Overflow's 2022 Developer Survey, he underlined that Python is currently the fourth most-preferred programming language.
Course coordinator Naga Vighneshwar Reddy said they are providing training sessions in Dhone for the benefit of local youth, offering computer science courses such as IoT software analyst, robotics process automation and AWS.
In Kurnool, officials are offering coaching in software development, tele-calling, and patient relations. APSSDC official in Kurnool Srikanth said they are currently running programmes for junior software developers, data entry operators, tele-callers, hospital patient carers.
