GVL meets steel secretary on Vizag Steel Plant
Visakhapatnam: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao has met steel ministry secretary Nagendranath Sinha and discussed with him pending problems of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, including supply of iron ore.
The MP was accompanied by RINL Steel Executives’ Association members led by their general secretary K.V.D. Prasad.
Narasimha Rao raised the issue of supplying iron ore from Bacheli and Kirandul iron ore mines of National Mineral Development Corporation in Chhattisgarh. He also discussed the poor financial condition of RINL and ways to improve its resources in the interest of its employees and the larger public.
The MP highlighted that promotions of RINL executives have been pending since 2019 due to delay in finalisation of the promotion policy by the RINL Board.
Last week, Narasimha Rao met RINL executives in Visakhapatnam, with many of them joining RINL as young engineers around 2012 with big hopes, He underlined that lack of promotions has severely reduced their morale.
The MP said the steel secretary had responded positively to all issues and promised support for RINL and its employees.
