Wearing masks compulsory: Rajender
Hyderabad, Oct. 22 : Ensuring strict regulation in the use of masks in public places will be the top priority, stated health minister Etela Rajendra to the members of Telangana state federation of chambers of commerce and trade (TSFCC).
A concern was raised by the members that masks are not being used in public places with severe violations noted. The members of TSFCC requested the minister that strict regulations be implemented to ensure that everyone wears masks.
Prakash Ammanabolu, president of TSFCC said “Senior doctors in the city have recommended that proper use of masks is a good prevention against SARS Cov-2. We are seeing a lapse in the protocol and urge the government to take strict action against those who violate the protocols.”
Rajender said that in the last six months the government has been successful in keeping the infection rate low and case fatality rate to 0.56 per cent. They are working hard to spread awareness among people. Online awareness programmes are being organised with different community groups, trade bodies and others urging them to not give up the guard during the festival season. Large public gatherings are not allowed. In small gatherings too, the use of masks is mandatory and people must follow the protocols of hygiene and cough etiquette.
With the dip in the temperatures, there is an additional worry but the government is prepared to handle the situation stated Rajender.
