Kolkata: West Bengal leader of the opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday targeted industrialist Sanjiv Goenka and sought him to reveal his political funding including electoral bonds to the ruling Trinamul Congress since it came to power in the state.
Taking swipe at RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group chairperson, the Nandigram BJP MLA sarcastically wrote on X, “Dear Mr. Goenka, You went gaga about investing Rs. 25,000 crore in WB in the last few years and how everything was so transparent!”
He added, “Since you are being so transparent, I hope you would reply to the following queries, transparently:- # How much amount did you & your firms donate to the TMC party since 2011? # If you intend to answer the abovementioned question, then kindly segregate the amount in two categories: a) through Electoral Bonds b) through other modes.”
Mr Adhikari also claimed, “You have invested in WB because of the reason that CESC Kolkata is the Crown Jewel of all your businesses. It's a cash cow which yields you the most and Mamata Banerjee has done her best to protect your business interests by allowing you to carry on in a monopolistic manner. You have invested to build infrastructure that aids your incremental flow of revenue. Waiting for your reply.”
