HDFC bank e-wallet worries customers
Chennai: While the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is stressing on digital India and digital transactions, the move has brought nightmare for numerous bank account holders whose money is trapped in HDFC e-wallet account, PayZapp.
Hundreds of customers of the bank are in a fix, as their transacted money is not reflecting on the beneficiary account.
It has been 25 days since A. Raja updated his KYC for PayZapp to transfer Rs 10,000 from his account to his friend for an emergency. Yet, the application shows that he has not updated his Aadhaar and Pan card details and that his card is temporarily blocked till then.
“I have submitted a letter and sent numerous mails to HDFC bank, none of them have been addressed yet. Customer care is not reachable for a long time,” Raja said.
The plight is similar for numerous such customers using PayZapp. Kishore Kumar from Palavakkam told that KYC details have not been asked for while depositing cash in the application, but while transferring, the details are not getting updated and the card is being blocked without any prior intimation.
“Moreover, while doing top up, the payment gets failed in the last stage, yet the money is credited from the account. It has been over 15 days and the bank has not reverted my money yet,” he said.
Agitated customers also rued that the bank personnel are unaware about the application and nobody is volunteering to help them. Some also allege that the customer care snap the phone on their faces.
When contacted, while some HDFC officials said they were not aware of the problem at all, some said they would ‘take the issue into account’.
