HYDERABAD: Bala Srinivas Murthy of the Telangana University’s Telugu department succumbed to a heart-stroke here on Monday. The death was being blamed on his Murthy’s promotion being revoked.
According to varsity Vice-Chancellor Prof. D. Ravinder, who visited the deceased teacher’s house, Murthy was promoted to professor but the executive council of the university had cancelled the promotion. Murthy has been in a state of shock ever since, said Prof. Gupta, whose powers have been withdrawn by the executive council which has appointed a three-man committee to monitor the administration of the university.
Recalling Murthy’s services, Prof. Gupta said that he was a talented professor, who was accomplished in Telugu literature.
Higher education council chairman Prof. R. Limbadri who also visited Murthy’s residence and others condoled with the bereaved family members.
