Modi to sanction loan worth Rs. 20 lakh to each SHG soon: Bharati
VIJAYAWADA: Union Minister of State for Health and family welfare Bharati Pravin Pawar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would sanction a loan to the tune of Rs. 20 lakhs for each self-help group shortly.
The Union minister inspected the stalls set up by the SHGs at Mopidevi in Pamarru in Krishna district on Friday. She enquired about the sweets made of millets put on display in the stalls and also about ornaments meant for women.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union minister said that the Centre, which had set up SHGs all over the country, would sanction loans to them to help the women realise financial self-sustenance and asked how many SHGs had been set up in the state in the last nine years in AP. She called upon them to improve their skills and strengthen the SHGs, in addition to expanding their services by taking up even online marketing.
The Union minister turned critical against the state government for not using the photographs representing the Centre in several Central schemes even after getting funds from it and wondered how it could be justified to change the names of the schemes and asked why the name of Poshan Abhiyan was changed.
She said that the Centre sanctioned more medical colleges for AP in order to improve healthcare services in the state.
She said that they would take up a door-to-door campaign in AP, interacting with the people to publicise several schemes sanctioned by the Centre in AP.
Earlier, Pawar along with AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju, took darshan at Lord Subramanyeswara temple, and the temple authorities welcomed them with temple honours at Mopidevi.
