Good remedy now available for mental illness: AP official
VIJAYAWADA: AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) chairman Prof. K .Hemachandra Reddy said many people are suffering from mental illnesses in the present mechanical world. However, modern treatment is available that can help them recover.
Speaking after inaugurating the newly established India's Child and Guidance Clinic in Suryaraopet area of Vijayawada on Sunday, Hemachandra Reddy underlined that some students are suffering from mental problems due to societal reasons. In many instances, parents are not paying attention to their children due to their busy lives. With this, children are falling under negative influences.
Speaking on the occasion, Health and Family Welfare commissioner J. Nivas said many people do not even know they have a mental problem. He quoted a recent survey revealing that one in 10 people are suffering from mental issues. Nivas said Indla's clinic will provide good treatment to such people.
Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences registrar Dr. Radhika Reddy said opening of a clinic to provide psychological treatment for young children is commendable.
Eminent psychiatrist Dr. Indla Ramasubba Reddy said they have started their clinic to make mental treatment accessible to all.
