KPSC secretary spooks candidates, hints at delay in interviews
Bengaluru: Already, a year has elapsed since the Gazetted Probationers Examination (Mains) was conducted, but one of the senior officials of the Karnataka Public Service Commissioner sent shockwaves among the candidates, saying that the process could be delayed further.
Mr Subodh Yadav, the newly appointed KPSC secretary, tweeted, “The way things are happening for KAS interview, it will take long time. ... but I can assure that KPSC is no way responsible for delay...”
Though he did not elaborate on the reasons, sources in the government said that the delay could be due to technical reasons. "The state government wants some changes in the shortlist of candidates, including increasing the numbers called for the interview. It is pathetic to see candidates waiting for years just for the interview," said an officer.
Though the exam was called the Gazetted Probationers Examination 2014 (Mains) for the appointment of Group A and B gazetted probationers, it was held only in September of 2015. But even a year later, KPSC has not conducted the interviews for the shortlisted candidates till now.
“The appointment of Mr Shyam Bhat as the new KPSC chairman was expected to give a boost to the employment process. But it is delayed further,” the officer said.
Several candidates who are following Mr Yadav on Twitter requested him to complete the process. Ms Akshatha tweeted, “Candidates are waiting from 2010 for KAS. No recruitment from 6 years questions credibility of KPSC. Please be clear why such a delay!”
Another candidate Rakshith K.R. tweeted, “Does 1:5 ratio in interview apply for 2014 batch? Was it really necessary to bring about changes at this last moment?”
