TTD to organise two-day training programme on cow-based farming, Goshala maintenance

On the first day, Goshala experts will award training to the organisers of 200 Goshalas belonging to Tirupati and Chittoor districts

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has planned to conduct a two-day training programme on Goshala maintenance and cow-based farming to interested Goshala organisers and farmers in Tirupati on August 25 and 26.

The TTD will organise the training programme at its SVETA building, located on the SV University Road in the city. The programme is intended to train the participants on how to organise a Goshala and how to execute cow-based agriculture (Gau Adharita Vyavasayam), besides Desi cows protection.

On the first day, Goshala experts will award training to the organisers of 200 Goshalas belonging to Tirupati and Chittoor districts on the benefits of natural farming techniques. On the second day of the programme, training will be imparted to 40 Nodal Goshala organisers of Andhra Pradesh.

In November last year, the TTD had organised a two-day ‘Sammelan’ in Tirupati in a bid to promote cow-based natural farming practices in the state. The conference has attracted hundreds of farmers and people interested in the natural way of farming by shunning chemical-based agriculture.

Till date, the TTD has provided 638 Desi breed bovines to farmers in both the Telugu states which included 308 animals in Chittoor district (180 cows and 128 bullocks) and distributed 330 animals in Nagarkurnool district.
