VIJAYAWADA: Many new bikes and used bikes were reduced to ashes in a huge fire incident occurred in Vijayawada in the early morning on Thursday. The fire broke out at the Casa TVS vehicle showroom in the city's KP Nagar area. The vehicles in the godown along with the showroom were burnt. A short circuit is suspected as the cause of mishap.
The showroom is located near Stella College on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway. Being the central office for TVS vehicles for Vijayawada and Krishna district, hundreds of vehicles were kept in the godown. Two-wheeler showroom and service centers are also being operated in the same area. Security personnel alerted the fire station after seeing the fire in the godown. The fire spread quickly as there were a large number of electric vehicles as well as regular two-wheelers in the godown.
According to firefighters, the fire spread quickly as it was a prefabricated showroom. According to initial reports, the loss will be in crores. Police have initiated probe to find out other reasons, if any, for the accident. A case has been registered on the complaint of the showroom manager.
