CM feted by Pourakarmikas over Regularisation of jobs
Bengaluru: Since, their long pending demand of regularisation of jobs of pourakarmikas were regularised by the State Government, pourakarmikas met Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at his residence on Race Course Road in Bengaluru on Friday on the occasion of “Pourakarmikas Day” and feted him express their gratitude to him.
The pourakarmikas gathered at the residence of CM and presented to him shawls and fruits while thanking him over regularisation of their jobs. Recently, the State Government had okay regularisation of 43, 000 pourakarmikas and in the first phase of regularisation of jobs of pourakarmikas 11, 137 jobs would be regularised. Others would be regularised in a phased manner.
For the visiting pourakarmikas, breakfast arrangements were made at the premises and Mr Bommai served breakfast to the pourakarmikas. A Committee was constituted to look into the regularisation of jobs of pourakarmikas and based on the report of the Committee, jobs of pourakarmikas have been regularised.
Mr Bommai who sat next to Bharati, a pourakarmika and enquired whether salaries to the pourakarmikas had been made on time, facilities such as distribution of uniforms to them, whether health inspectors and supervisors take proper care of them among other questions. She told reporters that “Happy that CM spoke to her and enquired about them.”
The Chief Minister said pourakarmikas do manial jobs and there is a need to instill confidence in them.
Ministers CC Patil, Govind Karjol, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Safai Karmacharis Commission Chairman Shivanna and others were present.
