Fight like in Telangana movement for public education: Murali to students
Warangal: It is the students who led the separate Telangana movement earlier and now also it is their responsibility to protect the universities and the public education system in the state, urged retired IAS officer and convenor of the Telangana Vidya Parirakshana Forum Akunuri Murali on Saturday.
He extended his support to the dharna being staged by the members of KU-JAC against the irregularities taking place in Kakatiya University on the campus in Hanamkonda on Saturday.
The former bureaucrat alleged that as the vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. T. Ramesh was writing essays in flattery of the ruling BRS leaders to be in the good books of the state government, instead of writing for the betterment of the society and the students.
The varsity authorities were trying to politicize the issue of irregularities raised by the students, he said. He said there were 14 universities in the state, which were lagging in development and providing quality education.
He said the entire Telangana society was observing how BRS leaders Palla Rajeswhar Reddy and Ch. Malla Reddy, who were running private universities, were exploiting the public education system in the state with the support from Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Calling upon every section of people including people’s organizations to extend their support to the KU students, he said the people would put an end to the dictatorship of the BRS government very soon.
Telangana Kranti Dal president Dr S. Prudviraj, retired professors K. Venkatnarayana, Vinayak Reddy, Padmaja, Yadagiri, Dr Suresh Goud, KU-JAC members Kiran, Rambabu, Nagaraju, Kumar, Manohar, Rakesh, Pasha, Krishnan, Prashanth, Vijay, Tirupati, Vijay, Ranjith, Narasimha Rao, Venkat and Rajesh were present.
