Four-line Bridges Coming up Over Musi and Isa Rivers

HYDERABAD: Musi and Isa rives will soon be having four-line bridges, which will help reduce traffic issues considerably and extend better connectivity in and around Hyderabad and Outer Ring Road (ORR). The five bridges will be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 168 crore.

This initiative was undertaken by the government essentially to cater to new colonies and commercial corridors that have come up in the city.

Municipal minister K. T. Rama Rao will lay the foundation stone on Monday, as the tender process has already been completed.

A HMDA official said that construction work on the five bridges will start soon. The government has decided to complete the works within 15 months. Three bridges are earmarked over the closed river.

HMDA completed the process of tenders through the engineering procurement and construction method.

The bridges over Musi and Isa rivers will ensure a smoother traffic flow and help save on time.

The state government had decided to construct 14 bridges over Musi and Isa rivers. However, the Covid-19 setback delayed the construction works over the two rivers.
