Angallu-Punganur Violence: 52 TD Leaders Released After Two Months of Arrest

Anantapur: Kadapa Central Jail authorities released on Sunday 52 Telugu Desam leaders arrested two months ago following the violence in Angallu and Punganur during the visit of TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The arrested leaders had approached the AP High Court following their arrest. Subsequently, the court granted them bail.

Kadapa Telugu Desam leaders Linga Reddy, Madhavi Reddy and Shajahan Basha were among those who welcome the released leaders outside the central prison.

They said though none of them had been involved in any violence, YSRC government had mounted pressure on police to register false cases against them. The TD leaders accused police of forcibly arresting them without conducting any investigation.
