HC Disposes Petition Seeking Transparent polling process
Hyderabad: A division bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti of the Telangana High Court disposed of a writ petition seeking directions to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Telangana chief electoral officer and the DGP to conduct the election process in a peaceful manner.
M.A. Khadar Mohiuddin from Nizamabad filed the petition seeking a probe into the alleged illegalities and corrupt activities like distributing of money and liquor by all parties. He made Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, ministers K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao, BJP leaders and MPs Dharmapuri Arvind and Bandi Sanjay and TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy as respondents.
The petitioner said that he had submitted similar representations before the Director-General of Police and the Chief Election Officer but no action has been taken.
The court, without going into the merits of the petition and without any observations, directed the ECI to dispose of his representations before November 30.
