TSPSC leak: Massive protest by students in OU campus

HYDERABAD: Student unions staged a protest against the state government over Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) question paper leaks in the Osmania University campus here on Saturday.

Hundreds of varsity students joined the protest demanding IT minister K.T. Rama Rao’s resignation, an investigation into the scam by a judge, the arrest of TSPSC chairman B. Janardhan Reddy and suspension of all members of the commission.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, ABVP state leader Jeevan said that TSPSC and the state government were playing with the lives of lakhs of unemployed youth by cancelling the recruitment exams. He asked the government to assure unemployed persons of transparency in holding competitive exams.

Expressing doubts over the SIT investigation into the paper leak, the ABVP leader demanded that not only TSPSC exams, but all exams conducted by the state government since 2014 should be looked into by a judge of the High Court.

Meanwhile, members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) and Telangana State Joint Action Committee (TSJAC) took out a bike rally from NCC gate to Indira Park to express solidarity with the BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar-led ‘maha dharna’ at Dharna Chowk.

OUJAC president Possala Ramesh demanded the resignation of Rama Rao, holding him morally responsible for TSPSC's failure to conduct exams securely. He also demanded an ex gratia of Rs 1 lakh to each aspirant who had registered with TSPSC.

OUJAC chairman Rudravaram Lingaswamy, BJP leader Dr. Daruvu Yal, Dr. Nagam Kumar Swamy, Dr. Pulla Rao Yadav, Nehru Naik, Rasa Venkar and Medi Ramana were present.
