Will fight for 52% reservation for BCs: ZP chief
HYDERABAD: Deriving the inspiration from Bapu Bindeshwari Prasad Mandal, I will fight for achieving the 52 per cent of reservation for the people who belong to Backward Classes, said BRS party Peddapalli Zilla Parishad chairman Putta Madhukar. He paid tributes to the statue of the B.P. Mandal located in front of the Bihar Assembly in Peddapalli on Saturday.
During his visit to Bihar, Madhukar met Anand Mandal, the grandson of B.P. Mandal at his native place Murho village and knew about his aspirations and the fight led by Mandal for the rights of BCs.
Madhukar said that as a chairman of the BC commission, B.P. Mandal started a movement for political, economical and social development of the BC community which was facing a lot of hardships. He demanded 52 per cent of reservations for BCs including pro-rata reservations in all sectors to all the communities. Because of his efforts, the present governments are implementing 27 per cent of reservations for BCs in education and employment sectors, he reminded.
Madhukar urged the BC communities not to fall prey to the false promises by a few upper-class people and to fight united by coming onto one platform for achieving 52 per cent of reservation. BC leaders must sensitise the community by conducting several programmes about their key role in society. To fulfil Mandal's aspirations, all the BCs must come forward as one family and take up the movement forward to protect their rights, he appealed.
Bahujana Sena state working president Vasu K. Yadav, vice president T. Shankar Lal and Mandal Sarpanch Forum president K. Srinivas Yadav were present along with others.
