Beneficiary students want Jagan to be permanent CM

Vijayawada: Students who are benefited by the welfare schemes of the state government want Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to remain as the permanent CM of AP.

“We want to see that the welfare schemes are continued,” said student Divya from Peddevam village of Tallapudi mandal, pursuing B.Com Computer course in its third year at a corporate college.

She said, “My parents are differently-abled. I was in a desperate condition to pursue graduation with the meagre family income. But, as the YSR Congress government took power and CM Jagan Mohan Reddy started the Jagananna Vidya Deevena and Jagananna Vasathi Deevena schemes, these helped students like me pursue higher education in a corporate college.”

“We are getting financial support to pay bus charge, college fees and for accommodation. I completed my schooling and intermediate in government institutions with Telugu medium. We could not afford to go to private schools,” she said, adding: “Now, we can see all government schools are getting a facelift with the best amenities and facilities and English has been introduced as a medium of instruction there too. I feel like going back to such schools and pursuing my education again.”

Divya said, “My parents are getting the welfare pensions and these are being delivered at the doorstep of my house every month by our Volunteer. We are also getting essentials under PDS at our doorstep.”

“I am happy to say that our beloved Chief Minister Jagananna has brought us good days and our poor family is so happy because of him. Your happiness has brought us tears of joy in our eyes,” she added.

Another male student, Prasanna Kumar pursuing B.Tech at a private college in Tadepalligudem said his father was a farmer and his mother a homemaker.

“I am a beneficiary of the Jagananna Vidya Deevena and getting total fee reimbursement unlike the earlier practice of getting Rs 35,000 in our college. Sir, you have fulfilled all your assurances and we feel proud of you. We are thankful to you for introducing the mandatory 10 months internship in big companies to improve our skills. You have taken our education system to international level by initiating a series of reforms and this is helping us to find placements even in top companies,” Kumar said.

He added, “Sir, our family members are beneficiaries of schemes like YSR Rythu Bharosa, YSR Aasara, Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Jagananna Vasathi Deevena and Amma Vodi. I assure you to work hard for the development of the state and we all want you to be the permanent CM of AP and continue the welfare schemes that benefit a lot of students like me.”
