Navaratnalu houses to have energy-efficiency appliances
Vijayawada: AP government will facilitate each beneficiary of mega housing scheme “Navaratnalu Pedalandariki Illu” in getting four LED bulbs, two LED tube lights and two energy efficient BLDC fans, with support from union government’s Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).
A team of EESL executives comprising Animesh Mishra, Nitin Bhutt, Savitri Singh and Pawan met special chief secretary (Housing) Ajay Jain. They explained to Ajay Jain how EESL can support the mega housing programme.
The special CS responded saying besides adopting energy efficiency methods with active support from AP energy department, the housing department has decided to provide best electricity services to the housing beneficiary.
Ajay Jain explained that construction is well underway, with 19.13 lakh houses grounded, 10.43 lakh in basement and above stages, and 5.08 lakh houses completed. He said energy-efficient appliances can save 734 units of energy per house annually, totalling to around ₹352 crore in the first phase of housing.
The special CS said housing department is encouraging beneficiaries to voluntarily take advantage of energy-efficient offerings facilitated by the housing corporation for saving on their power bills.
Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation managing director J.D. Siva Prasad underlined the favourable impact the energy efficiency project would have on beneficiaries of the housing project.
