Monsoon rains open up waterfalls on Ooty NH
Ooty: Monsoon rains are certainly a nightmare for the fragile Coonoor-Burliar slopes along the Ooty-NH.
However, waterfalls which have made their appearance in about half-a-dozen areas along the Coonoor-Burliar slopes, certainly add charm to the hills and in fact they have turned out to be a tourist attraction to showcase the magic of the monsoon and the wonders of nature.
Rains in the month of September have resulted in swelling of the streams and rivulets around and increased flow of water in water falls along the slopes.
Though these water falls are temporary in nature, it is needless to mention that the cascading waters from rocky slopes, amidst the woods, with roaring sound that fall down from great heights leave travellers and motorists spellbound on this sector of Ooty-NH.
In about couple of places along the Marapalam sector of the Burliar slopes, the water flows down from far upper reaches, flows down gaps below the mountain railway bridges amidst the rich jungle canopy that makes one feel as if the nature announces its joy and sounds through the over flowing waters now.
Quite a good number of tourists and other motorists moving up and down the hills are seen taking time to enjoy the beauty of water falls in the wooded and enchanting hill slopes in the Coonoor-Burliar belt as these water falls have turned out to be tourist spots now.
