Karnataka: Minister urges CM to reschedule public service commission exams

Kalaburagi: Expressing concern over the simultaneous scheduling of competitive exams by the Public Service Commission and the Home Department, Minister of IT-BT, Rural Development, and Panchayat Raj, as well as the in-charge of Kalaburagi district Priyank Kharge has urged the Chief Minister to consider rescheduling these exams on separate dates.

The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced examinations for the recruitment of 242 Accounts Assistants for the State Audit and Accounts Department, along with 47 positions for Inspectors of Cooperative Societies. On the same day, the Home Department has set the stage for an examination to fill 454 civil constable positions.

"The youth of our state invest time and effort in preparing for these examinations, to pursue government careers. Conducting competitive exams for three distinct posts on a single day is bound to generate confusion. I have been approached by several candidates who fervently request a reconsideration of the examination dates," Kharge stated in the letter to the Chief Minister.

"Over the past five years, governmental recruitments have experienced a significant slowdown, leaving thousands of eager candidates grappling with the disheartening reality of unfulfilled professional aspirations due to a mismatch between qualifications and available opportunities," he said.

In light of this, Minister Kharge has asked the Chief Minister to reschedule the examination on different dates.
