HYDERABAD: A software company employee and his wife allegedly poisoned their kids and died by suicide at their apartment in Kandiguda, Kushaiguda police said on Saturday.
Police alleged that Gaade Sathish, 39, the tech company employee and his wife Veda, 35, reportedly mixed poison in food on Friday night and served it to their sons Nishiket, nine, and Nihal, five. They then consumed the food.
The incident came to light after Sathish’s officemates tried to contact him. When he did not respond, one of his office mates, Sachin, called Satish’s parents in Maharashtra. The victim’s mother called Sathish's neighbour who called the police.
“We received a call from the apartment owner Saturday at 1.30 pm and rushed to the spot,” Kushaiguda sub-inspector M. Sai Kumar said.
Police broke open the main door and entered the flat and found the bodies. The couple had been married for 12 years.
Police said the couple was disturbed over the health issues of their two sons. The couple was struggling with their elder son’s treatment but there was no improvement, police said
