Jagan promises patients on treatment, sanctions immediate relief of Rs 9 lakh
KAKINADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy who participated in the launch of the third phase the YSR Aasara scheme at Denduluru of Eluru district on Saturday promised to provide medical treatment to several patients who met him.
Among those who met him was Hemalatha suffering from thalassemia, B. Ganapathi whose son Kranthi Prasad was suffering from brain tumour got surgery done twice at a cost of Rs 15 lakh. Jagan Mohan Reddy instructed district collector V. Prasanna Venkatesh to sanction Rs 1 lakh as immediate relief to Ganapathi.
Penuboyina Krishna of Ratnalakunta village of Pedavegi mandal said that his two kidneys are damaged and it required Rs 6 lakh.
Y. Moshe Raju of Denduluru and Kosana Arjun also requested Jagan Mohan Reddy to provide medical treatment to them as their kidneys are damaged. The Chief Minister said that if they procure kidney donors, transplantation surgery would be made free of cost.
Kuppala Sudharani of Unguturu mandal said that her daughter K. Dedeepya, 5, was suffering from liver problem by birth and it required Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 every month for her treatment and her husband Durga Rao is a daily labour and she is not able bear the medical expenses. P. Revathi of G. Kothapalli village of Dwaraka Tirumala mandal said that her daughter Venkata Lakshmi was suffering from hearing problems and had already spent Rs 1.50 lakh for her treatment. She said that an amount of Rs 22 lakh was needed for cochlear implantation.
Kongara Priscilla said her daughter Sephil was suffering from anorectal malformation. Eedupalli Prasad of Denduluru village said that he was suffering from lung disease and he was not able to move from the bed. He requested Jagan Mohan Reddy to provide pension to him. Kovvali Hemalatha said that her 10-month-old baby Bhavyasri was suffering from heart problems.
Collector Prasanna Venkatesh said that amounts of Rs 9 lakh, each getting Rs 1 lakh, was sanctioned for the patients for immediate assistance as per the Chief Minister’s instructions.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the YSR Aasara narrated their experiences of reaping benefits from the scheme. Rubina Begum of Eluru said that her group members got Rs 2,95,321 through the scheme out of which she got Rs 27,400. She said that she purchased a jigzag machine for tailoring.
