Hyderabad: City mayor Gadwal R. Vijayalakshmi on Friday acknowledged that a majority of the educational institutions in the city do not have proper sports facilities.
She was speaking at the inauguration of summer coaching camp organised by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at Victory Play Ground here on Monday.
“I appeal to the children to utilise this opportunity and make use of playgrounds, and sport complexes belonging to the GHMC as most of the institutions do not have such sports facilities.” The summer camp is a great opportunity to meet gather at one place, bringing a healthy environment among the children which is need of the hour, the mayor said.
Sports activities improve children's mental and physical ability and keeps them fit and healthy, the mayor added.
