Building 10k PHCs in AP, says health minister Rajani
Visakhapatnam: Health and Family Welfare Minister Vidadala Rajani said the State government has taken up an ambitious project of constructing 10,032 public health centers across the state to augment the health services.
Talking to the media persons after inaugurating a urban health hospital with 10 beds in Peda Gantyada mandal in 77th division of GVMC in Anakapalli district on Tuesday, the health minister said with the initiative taken by the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, 528 urban health centers across the State were developed under Nadu Nedu scheme spending an amount of Rs 399 crore.
''Our aim is to have one health center for every 30,000 people and similarly rebuild old dilapidated PHCs under Nadu Nedu,’’ Rajani told the media persons.
Giving details about the new urban health center which she inaugurated in the morning, the health minister said the new hospital will have 172 types of medicines, conduct 63 types of blood tests, natal and neonatal services.
The hospital will also have services like e-Sanjeevani, Ayushman Bharat and telemedicine.
The health minister later flagged off a rally to mark World Malaria Day. Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, Collector Dr A Mallikarjuna, Anakapalle MP Dr B Satyavathi and local MLAs Adeep Raj and Tippala Nagireddy were present.
