Political tensions escalate between MLAs in Nellore
TIRUPATI: There is a surge in political tensions within Nellore district following serious allegations made by city MLA and former Minister P. Anil Kumar Yadav against rebel legislators of YSR Congress (YSRC) party.
Yadav challenged the rebel MLAs to resign and join the Telugu Desam Party, which sparked a heated response from the rebel and opposition leaders.
Reacting strongly, rebel legislator Anam Ramnarayana Reddy demanded that ruling party leaders first seek resignation of the three MLAs, who have recently shifted their loyalty from Telugu Desam to the YSRC.
Speaking to media at his camp office in Nellore on Sunday, Ramnarayana Reddy countered the ruling party, stating that its leaders are in fear as opposition parties in the state have started exposing the anti-people policies of YSRC government.
“Political landscape in AP has become increasingly tense, with TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh continuing their yatras, and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan organising his Varahi Yatra, questioning the faults of YSRC,” the rebel legislator observed.
Anam further claimed that Nellore district has become a hub for drugs, corruption, and illegal activities, to which the state government has turned a blind eye.
Accepting the challenge of Anil Kumar Yadav, Ramnarayana Reddy said he is ready to contest from any constituency, as directed by TD chief Chandrababu Naidu. He, however, stated his intention to contest from the Nellore city constituency before retiring from politics.
TD leaders, including Beeda Ravichandra Yadav and Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, also launched a scathing attack against city MLA Anil Kumar Yadav. They maintained that the YSRC legislator has no moral right to make allegations against Naidu and his son Lokesh. Giridhar Reddy objected to Yadav using offensive language against TD leaders and their family members.
