Telangana HC Tells TS to Appoint President for Consumer Commission
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday gave six weeks time as the last opportunity to the state government to appoint the head of the TS Consumer Commission (TSCC). A division bench comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice T. Vinod Kumar recorded the promise made by Harender Prasad, special government pleader, who assured the court that the TSCC president would be appointed before the next date of hearing.
He submitted that the government had commenced the exercise to fill the post and the work would take three to four weeks.
As the government had made similar statements during the last two hearings, the High Court set the time limitation of six wees.
Emphasising the significance of the Consumer Commission, the bench highlighted its crucial role in promptly and efficiently addressing consumer complaints. The court also directed the government to submit the compliance report by September 6.
