Peddapalli Road Accident: Lorry Driver Burnt Alive
Karimnagar: A lorry driver died on the spot in the fire mishap that erupted in a major accident that took place when both lorries collided with each other here at Katnapalli village in Sultanabad mandal of Peddapalli district in the early hours on Saturday.
According to the fire Peddapalli officer Srinivas, two lorries one carrying a heavy load of paddy grains and the other with tiles when heading towards Peddapalli from Karimnagar district, the lorry which is coming behind collide with the lorry going in front.
All of a sudden fire erupted from the lorries and in no time both the lorries were caught in the fire. Since the lorry coming from behind hit the lorry in front it was crushed killing the driver who was identified as Fariyad on the spot. While the cleaner who sustained minor injuries was shifted to hospital for treatment.
The locals who noticed the accident tried to put off the fire and passed the information to the fire department at Peddapalli.
Receiving the information from the locals, the officials of the fire and police departments rushed to the spot with fire engine and tried to put off the fire but when fire spread massively, they brought another fire engine from Karimnagar and brought the situation under control by putting off the fire. Meanwhile, the body of the lorry driver who was caught in fire was burnt entirely.
