Car Rams Into Tree in MP's Umaria, Five Killed on Spot

Bhopal: Five people were on Monday killed when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a roadside tree in a village in Umaria district in Madhya Pradesh, police said.

The incident occurred near Majhgawan village on the national highway number 43 under the Ghunghuti police limits at around three in the morning, according to the local assistant sub inspector of police Shailendra Chaturvedi.

The five passengers were travelling from Umaria to Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh when the mishap occurred, police said.

While two people died on the spot, three others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

Three of the five slain passengers were government employees, police said.
