Business partner files plaint against Muhammad Nisham

The Special Branch cops here said that a detailed inquiry could be conducted, only if the workers belonged to Palakkad.

Thrissur: After the two siblings of Muhammad Nisham, the convict in the Chandrabose murder case, filed and withdrew their complaint against him about his death threat to them over the phone and during their visit to Kannur Central Jail to meet him, another relative and business partner at Kottayi here has also lodged a similar complaint. Special Branch DySP in Palakkad A S Raju on Tuesday filed his report to the SP over the complaint filed by Bashir Ali of Kottayi after conducting an inquiry. Kottayi SI is also conducting another inquiry into it.

“Nisham had told Ali when he visited him in the jail on July 14 to use the profits from the business for his legal aid and if not he threatened to finish off Ali. But, this was in Kannur and we could not pursue it further,” A S Raju told DC. Ali mentioned two phone numbers used by Nisham which he allegedly called two workers in his King Beedi company at Thirunelveli in Tamil Nadu from Kannur Jail. The Special Branch cops here said that a detailed inquiry could be conducted, only if the workers belonged to Palakkad.

“Ali, who has almost withdrawn his complaint, now says he has only hearsay knowledge about the calls made to the workers and therefore the cops cannot follow-up.” the DySP said. But DC learns that the two Airtel numbers allegedly used by Nisham appears in all the three complaints against him, however, the cops in Thrissur, Palakkad and Kannur have allegedly not conducted a proper inquiry.
