Anantapur: A diesel tanker overturned at Devapatla Mitta in Sambepalli mandal of Annamayya district on Wednesday. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the steering due to a speeding car approaching from the opposite direction. Following the tanker's overturning, the fully loaded diesel began to spill onto the road.
Nearby residents hurried to the scene with cans and containers to collect the fuel. The Sambepalli police, who quickly arrived at the site, contacted the fire department due to the potential fire hazards posed by the spilled diesel on the main road and its surroundings. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene as a precautionary measure.
Both the driver and the cleaner of the tanker sustained severe injuries in the accident and were shifted to a hospital for medical attention.
