Hyderabad: Former legislator Jalagam Venkat Rao on Wednesday filed a petition before the Election Commission (EC) seeking directions to all political parties to declare the criminal past of their candidates contesting in the ensuing Assembly elections.
Rao cited several Supreme Court judgements in his petition. He urged the poll panel to upload criminal data of all contestants in its portal, failing which he would file a petition before the court seeking directions.
