GVMC Warns Against Defacing Walls
Visakhapatnam: GVMC commissioner C.M. Saikanth Varma has issued a stern warning against the unauthorised pasting of posters on walls, bus stops and both government and private buildings. Varma emphasised that serious action would be taken against individuals and organisations found violating these regulations without obtaining prior permission from the competent authorities.
In a statement, the commissioner highlighted the ongoing efforts of the corporation towards fostering a clean environment as part of the eco-Vizag beautification programme. He mentioned the city's adorned junctions, modernised bus terminals and walls embellished by artists to enhance aesthetic appeal. Additionally, Varma pointed out the development of parks equipped with open gyms, recreational areas and a variety of exotic flora.
Proudly noting national accolades for maintaining cleanliness and a garbage-free city, the GVMC chief highlighted the appreciation received from dignitaries and tourists visiting the city.
Varma also revealed the formation of special teams dedicated to identifying and penalizing both commercial and religious entities involved in fixing poster without authorisation. He urged citizens to report such instances to the GVMC as part of their civic responsibility.
