IIT-H, BHU join hands for TS, UP youth connect

Hyderabad: In partnership with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Varanasi have joined forces for the Yuva Sangam initiative under the Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat programme.

The initiative aims to foster unity among youth from diverse states, bringing participants from Telangana to explore the culture, cuisine, and lifestyle of Uttar Pradesh. IIT-H, the nodal centre, in collaboration with BHU, offers a platform for youths to engage with local traditions and technological advancements.

Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, director of the Institute of Science and chairperson of the coordination committee at BHU Varanasi, outlined the itinerary, featuring visits to iconic places such as Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Ramnagar Fort, Ganga Ghats, and Sarnath.

The core objective of Yuva Sangam focuses on five key areas: Paryatan (tourism), Parampara (traditions), Pragati (development), Paraspar Sampark (people-to-people connect), and Prodyogiki (technology).

During the flag-off ceremony, Prof. B.S. Murty, director of IIT-H, stressed the initiative's role in uniting and empowering youth. "This initiative aims to unite and empower our youths, fostering cultural promotion, interdisciplinary learning, and encouraging technological innovation," he stated.

In Phase-3, IIT Hyderabad will host the youth delegation from Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the cultural richness and technological advancements of Telangana.
