Kakinada: Two students – Yalla Rajesh (19) and Kotikalapudi Aravind (19) – of K.P. Palem village drowned in the sea off Perupalem beach in Mogalturu mandal of West Godavari District on Sunday.
Mogalturu sub-inspector M. Veerababu said the two, doing their B. Tech first year, came to the beach for celebrating the birthday of Rajesh. They stepped into the sea to enjoy themselves but got pulled into the sea by strong currents.
Veerababu said they have traced the bodies of Rajesh and Aravind and sent them to Narasapuram government hospital for most-mortem.
Mogalturu police registered a case.
