Protests as CM distributes house sites in Amaravati
VIJAYAWADA: Pro-Amaravati supporters, including Telugu Desam leaders and cadres, staged protests with black badges, blindfolds and balloons even as Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy distributed house pattas to SC, ST, BC and minority communities in the R5 Zone in Amaravati.
Farmers, women and TD cadres had gathered at protest camps in Velagapudi, Mandadam, Thullur and Krishnayapalem, sporting black badges and black balloons. Police prevented Amaravati JAC leaders from reaching there by putting them under house arrest.
The protesters with placards kept raising slogans against the distribution of house sites even as buses carrying beneficiaries passed by the protest camps en route to the venue where the CM distributed the house pattas.
They asked beneficiaries not to trust the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, alleging that it is giving them “fake pattas.”
Pro-Amaravati supporters and farmers accused the YSRC government of undermining the Amaravati master plan, with the aim of destroying the capital city. They raised slogans that the government with destructive ideas will fall in the coming days.
