AP Wakf Tribunal comes up in Kurnool
Kurnool: High Court and Kurnool district administrative judge, Justice B. Krishna Mohan emphasised the importance of Waqf tribunal in delivering fast justice with regard to protection of Waqf properties.
He was speaking after formally inaugurating the AP State Wakf Tribunal here on Saturday. Justice Mohan expressed happiness that the tribunal has come up in Kurnool, which also boasts of AP Lokayukta, AP Human Rights Commission and AP Electricity Regulatory Commission.
He said that the primary objective of the Wakf tribunal is to ensure effective justice and urged everyone to work together to achieve this goal.
High Court judge Justice K. Sreenivasa Reddy, who is a native of Kurnool district, said that it is significant that the tribunal was established in the district nine years after the state's partition.
Justice Sreenivasa Reddy highlighted the vital role of the judicial system in a democracy, where disputes are resolved and rights are upheld, regardless of a person's background. He also acknowledged the advancements in technology and encouraged lawyers to leverage technology in their legal practice. He stressed the importance of collaboration between the bar and the bench in all legal matters.
Kurnool principal district & sessions judge N. Srinivasa Rao explained that G. Bhupal Reddy will chair the tribunal, with Nageswara Rao and Abdul Majeed serving as members. Currently, there are 213 pending cases in the tribunal dating back to the time of the state's bifurcation.
Bhupal Reddy, senior officials and judges, including A. Md. Imtiaz, Dr. G. Srijana, CH. Venkata Naga Srinivasa Rao, Dr. Abdul Majeed, V. Nageswara Rao, Pratibha Devi andKalyani also participated.
