Cyberabad cops to undergo ‘defensive tactical training’
Hyderabad: Cyberabad police launched a ‘defensive tactical training’ program for its personnel. As part of this, eight persons have been honed as trainers of trainers (ToT), who will in turn train others in the commissionerate.
Head constable Yadaiah, who formally flagged off the event on Monday, shared his experience on how he tackled suspects, despite being stabbed seven times.
This led to the arrest of notorious property offenders. First to be trained would be drawn from wings like cybercrimes, special operations teams and CCS.
In course of time, all those in Cyberabad would be trained in the tactics, said Cyberabad commissioner Stephen Raveendra.
He said that unlike training required for forces dealing with extremists or terrorists, defensive training is equally important as the offenders operate in areas swarmed with people. One has to be cautious about the safety of the people around them.
As a part of the week-long training module, which involves only outdoor activities, training, frisking, checking and defensive techniques will be taught in a scientifically-woven manner.
