CM launches Jagananna YSR Badugu Vikasam
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday launched ‘Jagananna YSR Badugu Vikasam’ as part of special industrial policy 2020-23, that will benefit industrialists from SC and ST communities.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the new scheme was launched during the auspicious Dasara festival hoping that the people from SC and ST communities will become big industrialists in course of time.
The Chief Minister announced a series of incentives under the scheme. They include incentive of up to Rs one crore; compulsory allotment of land in spaces belonging to APIIC to the tune of 16.2% to SCs and six per cent to STs to help them set up industrial units; waiver of stamp duty and concession in power charges; patent registration fee and quality certification. He said that they will set up facilitation cells apart from providing training in skill development.
Referring to YSR Congress government’s initiative of ‘Navaratnalu’ programme, he felt that all sections of people, including SCs, STs, minorities and the poorer lot from upper castes should reap the benefits of such a welfare programme. It was designed in such a way that they could sustain on their own. He said that they were implementing Amma Vodi, Rytu Bharosa, Arogyasri, distribution of enhanced amount in pensions and to distribute pattas to 30 lakh houses sites to be registered in the name of women beneficiaries.
On newly introduced gram/ward volunteers and also establishment of secretariat at village/ward level, he said that nearly 82% of such jobs had gone to SC, ST, BC and minority communities and added that the total fee reimbursement was helping parents from falling into a debt trap. He said that the system of village/ward volunteers and secretariats was ensuring that no eligible beneficiary will miss out on the benefits.
Jagan Mohan Reddy said that they were introducing English as a medium of instruction in all government schools to enable students from such schools to compete at any level.
