Security arrangements for Kartika month on seashores

Vijayawada: Bapatla district SP Vakul Jindal held a review meeting with district officials on security arrangements in coastal areas of the district during Kartika month.

He discussed with police officers precautionary measures to be taken at Suryalanka and Odarevu seashores when devotees come for the holy bath prior to the pooja. They came to a conclusion that beaches be divided into sectors of 50 metres. These will be supervised by police personnel using ropes and wearing life jackets. There will be trained swimmers in place.

Jindal suggested that instructions be given through public address system in a way that people could feel the threat. CCTV cameras should be installed to monitor those exposing themselves to a risk.
