Calicut University to launch mobile app to connect with students
KOZHIKODE: In order to come closer to its large student community, Calicut University, will launch a mobile android application offering various services. The app would help students to get information regarding examinations, notifications and alerts and would also have the option to submit fees for various services from the varsity via the e-payment method. The authorities are planning to launch the app by March, next year. The app, developed by the Calicut University Computer Centre (CUCC), will act as a gateway for students and the public to various wings of the varsity.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, CUCC Director V.T Madhu said that the CUCC was seeking details from various departments. “We have asked various wings of the varsity what they need to feature in the app from their respective departments. By January, we will compile the data and start developing the app accordingly,” he said. The Calicut University mobile app would probably be the first of its kind developed by any university in the state.
“Our aim is to become student friendly and introducing the mobile application is one step closer to that concept,” added Vice-Chancellor Dr K Mohammed Basheer.
