In the wake of increasing instances of fraudsters selling spurious seeds to farmers, the Rachakonda police have taken strict measures to curb the menace. The police authorities have sought the support of people in the fight against these seed sellers and urged citizens to share information regarding manufacturing, storage and sale of spurious seeds. Details of the individuals who share such information will be kept confident, tweeted the Rachakonda police. Citizens have also been urged to alert and share details of fake fertilizers and pesticides, if they have any.

Sale of spurious seeds has been a major issue for the farmers in Telangana. Recently, the Rachakonda police have formed Special Task Force teams to prevent the manufacturing and sale of counterfeit seeds.
