Young mountaineer felicitated by Rachakonda CP
HYDERABAD: Mountaineer Bhukya Yashwant Naik, 19, from Mahbubabad district, who recently scaled Mount Everest base camp was felicitated by Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan at the commissioner's office in Neredmet on Wednesday.
Yashwant, the youngest son of Bhukya Rammurthy Naik and Jyoti, couple from Bhukyatanda in Maripeda mandal of Mahbubabad district, faced many difficulties and worked hard to climb Khardung, the highest mountain in Jammu and Kashmir in June last year and Kilimanjaro in South Africa in August.
The young boy from the tribal community also climbed Mount Elbrus in Russia and Mount Yunam in Himachal Pradesh.
Speaking on this occasion, Chauhan said, mountain climbing was a very challenging task and very difficult. Achieving great achievements in such a field was a source of great pride.
The commissioner wished Yashwant to accomplish many more such feats and bring fame to the country and the state, a press release issued by Rachakonda police PRO stated.
