AP rights panel warns against bigotry in schools
VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights asked the state government and district officials to take strict action against teachers and staff who make caste and religious references in day-scholar schools, residential schools, homes and rehabilitation centres as it was against Article 28 (1,2,3) of Constitution of India.
Stating that propaganda belonging to Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Muslim, Islam, Jain and other religions was completely against the norms of the education system and the Constitution of India, Commission member Sitaram said if pagan propaganda was carried out in schools, the Child Rights Commission would take legal and criminal action against the offenders.
He said that the Commission issued orders to the collectors and police chiefs of all districts to take action against the violators. Students and parents could report to apscpcr2018@gmail.com if teachers and staff promote paganism, he said.
