Raipur: Wife buries husband in bedroom, says couldn't afford 'funeral'; arrested

Raipur: Chhattisgarh police have arrested a woman who had buried her husband’s body in their house, claiming she could not afford a cemetery plot and the funeral expenses. However, she had earlier claimed her husband went missing a year ago.

According to a report in Daily Mail, police recovered the skeleton remains of Manpreet Kaur’s husband Rajvinder Singh after neighbours complained that a foul smell was emanating from her house.

Kaur, 40, had dug up a shallow grave in the bedroom of their house and buried her husband. She has, however, denied killing him.

Kaur said she took the step as she was concerned about the expenses of a traditional Sikh funeral and a plot to bury him.
