\'Jagan\'s administration is a Social Revolution for marginalized communities\'
Tirupati: Lauding Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's state governance as a 'social revolution,' TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has said the administrative reforms introduced during the tenure of the YSRC have benefited the Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and the Minorities.
He said the people were eagerly anticipating Jagan Mohan Reddy's second term as chief minister.
The Samajika Saadhikara Bus Yatra, which took off from Tirupati on Friday, witnessed the participation of a massive crowd. YSRC leaders, including Vijayasai Reddy MP and regional coordinator for south coastal Andhra districts Deputy chief minister Narayana Swamy, M Gurumurthy MP, city mayor Sireesha Yadav and deputy mayor Abhinay Reddy.
The yatra commenced with the paying of respects to the Joytirbha Phule statue in Balaji Colony and it went through various localities in the city.
During the public gathering, Tirupati MLA Karunakar Reddy said Jagan Mohan Reddy’s legacy would be one of ‘empowerment and justice for underprivileged groups’. The government's policies had delivered genuine justice to SC, ST and BC communities in the development and welfare schemes, he said.
“The chief minister reshaped the party's identity as a champion for the marginalized communities. He followed in the footsteps of his father, YS Rajasekhar Reddy and is steadfastly working to fulfil their shared vision for the state,” he added.
The TTD chairman also acknowledged the government's commitment to Tirupati city's development. He highlighted the development of master plan roads that has spurred unprecedented growth for the city by bringing 38,000 acres of vacant land to gainful use. This was unmatched action in the last four decades.
MP Vijayasai Reddy predicted that Jagan Mohan Reddy would lead the state as chief minister for the next 25 years.
Deputy mayor Bhumana Abhinay emphasized the chief minister’s inclusive governance, “which did not treat the downtrodden sections as mere vote banks.”
He said that despite the corporation's establishment 140 years ago, BC women had not previously been granted any significant positions. However, under CM Jagan's leadership, a BC woman from the Yadava community now got the chance to become mayor, he said.
Gurumurthy praised the chief minister for his commitment to building a society envisioned by BR Ambedkar. He hailed the CM as the Abhinava Ambedkar, a leader unwavering in his mission to uplift the BCs, SCs and STs.
