Telangana High Court Orders Decision on Minimum Qualifying Marks for Group-4 Exams
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court directed the TS Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and the state government to take a decision, preferably by November 20, on reducing the minimum qualifying marks in Group-4 examinations for ex-serviceman as per the recommendation of the Director, Sainik Welfare Board.
Justice P. Madhavi Devi directed the TSPSC and the government to finalise the recruitment of ex-serviceman only after taking a decision on the minimum qualifying marks.
The judge was dealing with a petition filed by a group of ex-servicemen who requested the court to direct the TSPSC to fix the minimum qualifying marks at 30 per cent of the total marks, on par with candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities and physically handicapped candidates.
They said the Director, Sainik Welfare Board, had written to the TSPSC and the government to consider the request but no decision had been taken.
